ONESTIN Youth Association
We are the ONESTIN Youth Association from Onesti, county of Bacau, Romania..
Our management team has an average of 25 years and over 150 young members
ranging from 15 to 30 years.
We’re developing cultural-educative and social activities,
especially with young people, but with other categories of people as well.
Our image was created by our theatre group which had numerous
acknowledgements on a national level. It recently had the premiere of the
show “Visniec’s Circus”. Also, we have created
theatre-teaching classes with youngsters between 7 and 19 years of age. We
have o four voice choir which is appreciated for some years for it’s
Christmas songs repertoire, having concerts in almost the entire county.
Beside this, we have some other courses (self-defense, piano, guitar,
communication and youth counseling, non-formal teaching - English and
Italian) and, also, informing, civic and charitable activities.
Recently, we have established a Youth Counseling Centre on
domestic violence problems, through a mini-grant from USAID through IOCC
Romania for a project of ours “Youth and Non-Violence”. This project also
contains:
-
Individual and group therapy
-
Cultural shows
-
Documentary broadcast
-
Activities in Reeducation Centers,
Penitentiaries, schools and high-schools
-
Painting and writing contests
-
All sort of printed materials.
At the moment, we are in full process of
establishing a Cultural Centre in our city, through another grant won’t
auction of the Culture Ministry of Romania.
We are very interested in showing you the work of our young
members. So, hopefully we can establish a communication channel, because we
are fully convinced that culture knows no borders and no limits. We invite
you to visit our website
www.onestin.ro , images representing the main means of communication ,
for the moment. We are in process of building an English version of the
site.
We wish to develop projects at an international
level. For this we seek to establish contacts in all the EU and Youth in
Action partner countries, in order to collaborate on different programs.
